What is Alliance LARP Chicago?
What is an event?
Our events typically span an entire weekend, starting with set up at 6pm on Friday and ending with clean up on Sunday morning. We provide lodging and 3 meals as part of our price.
Alliance LARP Chicago offers a one of a kind boffer (foam combat) LARP experience: pairing live combat with a diverse magic system, expansive crafting mechanics, and major Roleplay opportunities all within the ever-growing Alliance LARP system. Our team has two different plot teams, allowing us to run more events and providing our players with even more diversity in settings and plot lines.
Rules:
Our rulebook is quite large, giving great opportunities to interact with the game in various ways. But the system can be easily boiled down a few major items:
1) Damage and hits
Want to take out an enemy? Your damage coincides with every move you make. Swing a sword for “normal” damage or throw a spell for elemental effects. Each monster or player character has a pool of health and armor to take out before they die!
2) Effects and Magic
A diverse selection of magical and non-magical effects exists in tandem with damage. Use spells and special techniques to silence, bind, and even insta-kill your enemies on the battlefield!
3) Defend Yourself
Using magic and items you can build up effects to ignore detrimental effects against you and your friends.
4) Teamwork
Our chapter focuses most of our storylines on Player Vs Environment based plot. Meaning that there are little Player Vs Player interactions. Working as a team, you will try to defeat the myriad of monsters and evil humanoids throughout our worlds!
5) Be All You Can’t Be
Our system empowers players to take on roles that they can’t normally access. Become a powerful warrior, a stealthy rogue, a master mage, or a crafty merchant. You can even mix and match skills from other classes to develop your own unique playstyle.

Get Gear
Currently we don’t partner with any particular dealers for any of our many props, costumes, and items. In order to begin as an NPC all that is required is some black clothing. As a Player Character you will need an in-period costume and any gear you plan on using. If you have questions about the legality of certain items, please reach out to our staff.
Register for an Event
Want to join us? Create an account on our website and find an event to go to. You can either play as a character you create or join our NPC team to run around as various monsters, important plot characters, or quest-givers!
